Kids will eat pizza any day. It’s more exciting to eat pizza while watching a movie. Pizza is one of those recipes that you can make to fit the kids’ tastes. So get the kids in the kitchen with you and make a pizza together.
The crust is what people talk about – thin, thick, rolled, hand-tossed, grilled. Choose your favorite. There are several methods for making your dough. One topping or several, the choices are endless. Be creative; even go half and half (or fourths). A pizza stone is not necessary, although it does enhance the flavor. Use a cookie sheet or jelly roll pan, or a round pizza pan. The sauce can be out of a can or homemade. For variety, use premade canned biscuit dough, roll out, and personalize each pizza.
We eat our pizza in the kitchen because we are sloppy. Make sure you have plenty of napkins, something to drink, and popcorn at hand. A few of our favorite movies are: Land Before Time (dinosaurs), Monsters Inc., Aladdin, Cars, Mary Poppins, or Wally. For older kids: Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Spy Kids, Dinotopia, or Agent Cody Banks 2: Destination London.
