Leaf Rubbing

My favorite time of the year is Fall. I love seeing the leaves change colors, but my most favorite thing is when the weather turns cool. When the leaves start falling off the trees, I look for my favorite ones so I can do some leaf rubbings. Have you ever done leaf rubbings? Here is how to do it.

Supplies you will need:

  • Leaves (Any number of them)
  • White paper (Any size)
  • Crayons (Yellow, Brown, Orange, and Red)

The most important thing you will have to do is go on a leaf hunt for some of your favorite leaves.  You can go in your backyard or have an adult take you to a park to look for some really cool ones.

After you have picked out your leaves, you will need to get out your crayons. You will want to get out yellow, brown, orange, and red crayons because this is a fall picture. The other most important thing you will need to do for your rubbing is you will need to have an adult get out some white paper, which could be any size.

To do your rubbings you will need to:

  1. Put the leaf under the paper.
  2. Pick out one of your crayons.
  3. Color by rubbing the crayon on the paper where the leaf is and the leaf shape will show up on your paper.
  4. Do this for every leaf you want on your paper.  Repeat this step if you want to do more than one picture.

You can even turn them into cards. Then send them to your family and friends.
